Teaninich 27 Year Old 1972 Rare Malts Selection
Colour:
Light new gold.
Nose:
Requires time after opening before drinking to breath. Recommendation at least 1 hour prior to drinking, although this is of course a suggestion a with these rare old bottlings each will have evolved to have a life of its own.
Once it has opened up it then offers some amazing beehive notes: wax, honey, wood, with some floral notes such as dandelion that lead you through more white fruity qualities such a gooseberry notes finale.
Palate:
Strongly recommend adding one drop (two drops maximum) of water to open this dram up, otherwise almost to powerful at full cask strength otherwise.
A richly powerful and intense whisky, full of all the qualities that make this distillery a rarity amongst it’s more well known brothers. Hints of Chinese fruits such a longan, honey heather florals, and honeycomb.
A long intense spiritous finish.
