Cragganmore 12 Year Old
Cragganmore Distillery was built in 1869 and means ‘Great Rock’ in Scottish Gaelic. It became the first distillery in Scotland to transport their whisky efficiently by railway. It uses lightly smoked malt and just like most other distilleries, they no longer have their own maltings anymore and so their malted barley is obtained from Diageo's central maltings. A truly lovely fragrant nose of blossoming wild meadow flowers, roses, orange zest, and soft fudge. On the palate a slightly hint of walnut cake, roasted nuts, toasted pecans, black forest gateau, and blackberry. A delicate and authorial quality finishes off this deliciously delightful dram.
