Chita

Established in 1972 through a joint venture between Suntory and Zen-Noh, the Chita Distillery is Japan’s largest grain whisky facility. Located in Aichi Prefecture’s Chita Peninsula, its proximity to industrial silos allows for a stable grain supply and large-scale production. The distillery produces three styles of grain whisky—clean, medium, and heavy—used primarily in Suntory’s blended whiskies.

Its flagship single grain product, “Chita,” crafted by chief blender Shinji Fukuyo, showcases the elegant and smooth character of grain whisky, with notes of oak and vanilla. It has received multiple international awards and is a cornerstone of Suntory’s whisky portfolio.
