Ben Nevis

Established in 1825 near the foot of Ben Nevis, Scotland’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis distillery maintains unique traditions like using wooden washbacks and brewer’s yeast—the only distillery in Scotland to do so. Slow distillation produces a deep spirit that shines particularly in Sherry cask maturation.

In 1955, it briefly operated a Coffey Still, becoming Scotland’s first dual-operation distillery. Now owned by Japan’s Nikka, its expressions such as the Ben Nevis 10 Year Old and the smoky Macdonald’s Traditional Ben Nevis are favored by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
