Bruichladdich

Bruichladdich is a boundary-pushing Islay distillery known for challenging conventions. Founded in 1881, it experienced several closures and revivals, finally being reborn in 2001 by a group of independent whisky entrepreneurs and later acquired by Rémy Cointreau in 2012. Unlike most Islay distilleries focused on peat, Bruichladdich is renowned for its unpeated expressions and its emphasis on terroir—the influence of local ingredients and environment—using Scottish-grown barley and local water sources, and bottling at cask strength with full transparency.

In addition to its core Bruichladdich range, the distillery produces heavily peated Port Charlotte and the ultra-peated Octomore, showcasing its versatility and innovation. Bruichladdich promotes handcrafted methods, traceable sourcing, and strong support for local agriculture, earning it a distinctive place among modern whisky lovers who value both flavor and social responsibility.

Chorlton Whisky

The whisky which I picked to bottle, is something I’m excited about and want to drink. Everything else is secondary, but I’d prefer to release “drinkable whisky” rather than anything expensive or rare.’ David Bennett, the founder of Chorlton Whisky told us.

It is never easy to strike a balance among quality of whisky, label design and price, no matter it is an official or independent bottling. However, we discovered that Chorlton Whisky was doing something different. David said, ‘Initially I thought it would be fun to have something unique to share. The ethos now, though, is trying to make single cask whisky a bit more accessible.
