For Lowland single grain whiskies, The North British distillery has a higher exposure among the IB brands. And it is featured in the eSpirits 15th anniversary series by Liquid Treasure. Distilled in 1989, it matured for 34 years in a single Bourbon barrel, retaining an alcohol content of 43.7%.


The aroma is creamy with hints of salted caramel, and baked goods, reminiscent of soufflé pancakes and Basque cheesecake. On the palate, it starts with a fresh sweetness. The low alcohol sensation allows the whisky to linger longer in the mouth, with a silky texture that gradually turns creamy, with citrus and oak notes. The finish is fresh with a citrus aroma, light and inviting, making it an easy choice for another glass.

Located in Edinburgh, North British is one of Scotland’s leading grain distilleries, founded in 1885 by John Crabbie and Andrew Usher. It specializes in corn-based grain whisky and supplies spirit for numerous famous blends.
