Founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, Nikka Whisky was driven by a mission to craft whisky of the same caliber as those from Scotland. Now part of the Asahi Group, Nikka operates two distinct distilleries—Yoichi and Miyagikyo—each offering unique characteristics, from smoky peat to elegant floral notes.

Nikka expanded its global reach by acquiring Scotland’s Ben Nevis distillery in 1989, further enriching its blending capabilities. Flagship releases such as Nikka Black are household names in Japan, symbolizing both the craftsmanship and global ambition of the brand.
