Macduff

Macduff was established in 1960 to meet post-war demand and features a Delme-Evans design with five stills, each angled upward with a kinked lyne arm. This configuration promotes controlled reflux, resulting in a nutty, slightly sulphury spirit that balances well with light fruitiness.

The distillery uses short fermentation and cold shell and tube condensers, which give the whisky extra weight. Now part of the Dewar’s portfolio, Macduff primarily supports the William Lawson blend, though its single malt is being revived under the name The Deveron.
