Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey Antique Collection 2025

The Straight Rye Whiskey expression in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection and it has been part of the series since 2006. It is named after Thomas H. Handy, the former owner of the renowned Sazerac Coffee House in New Orleans. When Cognac supplies declined, Handy championed American Rye Whiskey as the base spirit for the Sazerac Cocktail, creating a close historical connection between this whiskey and the cocktail culture of New Orleans. The 2025 release is a blend of whiskey distilled in the spring of 2018 and 2019, and is bottled at a powerful 129.8 Proof (64.9% ABV).

Official Tasting Notes:
The nose opens with pronounced oak and spice, accompanied by bright fruit and a subtle hint of apple. The palate is driven by bold spice and oak, balanced by gentle fruit notes. The long, warming finish carries lingering oak, vanilla and spice.
