Thompson Bros. - Glentauchers 18 Year Old 2006

Glentauchers has never had many official single malt whisky releases. As the distillery's owner, Chivas Brothers typically uses Glentauchers' malt whisky for blended whiskies, with it being a key component in Ballantine's. However, Glentauchers is well-loved by many independent bottlers (IBs), and its expressions can be found in various IB releases. This time, Thompson Bros. has released an 18-year-old Glentauchers, distilled in 2006, packaged with an adorable dog-themed label.

Nose – Dry Museli covered in Lemon Curd; Sultanas, toasted barley, and dried coconut. Toasted sourdough, lemon peel, elderflower cordial and lime wine gums.
Palate – The lemon theme continues with fresh peel, posset and gums. Lovely cereal notes of toasted barley and oats. Creamy with salted butter and soft vanilla sponge cake.
Finish – Grapefruit juice, citrus peel, spearmint. Crushed aspirin, chalk and ground ginger.
