Cask Le Sens - Clynelish 10 Year Old 2015 for Rudder Japan

This Clynelish 10 Year Old is a joint bottling by Cask Le Sens and Japanese whisky retailer Rudder, celebrating the fifth anniversary of Cask Le Sens while also marking the 20th release in Rudder's TRICKSTER series. Cask Le Sens was founded by two co-founders of Whisky Concerto, specialising in whisky cask trading and cask selection. The TRICKSTER series draws inspiration from mythological figures who defy convention. This edition features Pan, a figure in Greek mythology associated with forests, shepherds and the chaos of nature.

Distilled in 2015, this Clynelish was matured in a Refill Hogshead and bottled in 2026 at 10 years of age. According to Rudder's tasting notes, this expression retains Clynelish's signature beeswax character, complemented by rich fruit, citrus, grassy and resinous notes.

Official Tasting Notes:
Nose: Opens with aromas of honey, beeswax, wholemeal biscuits, new leather goods and malted milk drinks. Resin and white pepper gradually emerge, while the waxy notes become more pronounced.
Palate: Fruit candies, citrus peel, orange cream and dried apricots, followed by a sweet-and-tangy note reminiscent of honey mustard, alongside grassy and earthy notes. The flavours gradually become drier and spicier.
Finish: Notes of meringue, heather blossoms, pine resin, dried Earl Grey tea leaves and cocoa, with a refreshing spiciness reminiscent of ginger and yuzu kosho lingering on.
