Matured in a bourbon barrel, but with a nice color and complex fruitiness: loads of pineapple, beeswax, tangerines and juice gummy, and later it comes a bit of mintiness. Still waxy and fruity on the palate like apple, lemon juice gummy, and a bit of warmness like ginger and pepper. And of course, a long finish with fruits.

Glentauchers

Founded in 1897 near Keith in Speyside, Glentauchers is a discreet yet highly efficient distillery now owned by Pernod Ricard. Known for its fast and continuous production with six stills, it plays a key role in blended whiskies—especially as a core component of Ballantine’s. Long fermentation and slow distillation yield light-bodied, floral, and fruity spirits.

Though most of its output goes into blends, Glentauchers has occasionally released limited single malts through independent bottlers like Gordon & MacPhail. These expressions reveal a delicate and refreshing profile, offering a different interpretation of Speyside character.

Chorlton Whisky

The whisky which I picked to bottle, is something I’m excited about and want to drink. Everything else is secondary, but I’d prefer to release “drinkable whisky” rather than anything expensive or rare.’ David Bennett, the founder of Chorlton Whisky told us.

It is never easy to strike a balance among quality of whisky, label design and price, no matter it is an official or independent bottling. However, we discovered that Chorlton Whisky was doing something different. David said, ‘Initially I thought it would be fun to have something unique to share. The ethos now, though, is trying to make single cask whisky a bit more accessible.
