The GlenAllachie 12 Year Old was named World’s Best Single Malt at the 2025 World Whiskies Awards. The current expression is matured in a combination of PX, Oloroso Sherry, Red Wine and Virgin Oak casks. This diverse cask composition also reflects Billy Walker’s long-standing emphasis on Wood Management, before being bottled at 46% ABV.

Official Tasting Notes:
The nose offers notes of dark chocolate, treacle and heather honey, accompanied by cinnamon, espresso and raisins.
On the palate, marzipan and orchard fruits come first, followed by warming mocha, butterscotch and nutmeg, with a full-bodied yet well-balanced profile.

Glenallachie

Founded in 1967, Glenallachie is a relatively young Speyside distillery originally built by Mackinlay McPherson for blending purposes. Located at the foot of Ben Rinnes, it was acquired by Pernod Ricard in 1989. In 2017, industry veteran Billy Walker and his team took over, transforming Glenallachie into a single malt-focused brand that quickly gained acclaim.

Under Walker’s direction, the distillery underwent a full overhaul—redefining cask management and emphasizing Sherry casks and specialty finishes. The result is a richer, sweeter house style with notes of dried fruit and spice. Flagship expressions like Glenallachie 12 Year Old and various limited editions showcase depth and personality, establishing the distillery as a rising Speyside star.
