Glenallachie 16 Year Old Past Edition Billy Walker 50th Anniversary

To celebrate Billy Walker’s 50th anniversary in the whisky industry, The GlenAllachie launched the Past, Present and Future Trilogy in 2022. This 16 Year Old is the first release in the series, representing the “Past” and looking back at the rich Sherry Cask style that has long defined Billy’s reputation as a whisky maker.

Billy personally selected nine casks distilled in 2005 and matured for 16 years in Spanish Sherry Butts, before marrying them together and bottling the whisky at a natural cask strength of 57.1%. Among the three releases, the Past Edition is the clearest expression of Billy’s classic, heavily sherried style.

Official Tasting Notes:  
The nose offers walnuts, heather honey and subtle dried fruits, followed by roasted coffee, orange peel and cinnamon. On the palate, there are notes of fig syrup, caramelised Muscovado sugar, toasted pine nuts, heather honey, crystallised ginger and dried apricots.
