Gordon & MacPhail - Talisker 39 Year Old 1987 Connoisseurs Choice Heritage Cask 22601101

Gordon & MacPhail has been gradually stepping back from the independent bottling business it has run for many years. Since 2024, G&M has stopped acquiring new make spirit from external distilleries for independent bottling purposes, shifting its focus towards its own distilleries, Benromach and The Cairn. Although G&M still holds a substantial inventory of IB stock, enough to continue releasing independent bottlings for many years to come, this Talisker 1987 has been confirmed as G&M’s final Talisker IB.

The label of this release pays tribute to the classic look of G&M Talisker bottlings from the 1980s, and it is released as part of the Connoisseurs Choice Heritage series. Distilled in 1987, the whisky was matured for 39 years in a single refill sherry cask and bottled at cask strength, retaining an ABV of 51.4%.

Official Tasting Notes:
Fragrant raisin and clove spice are complemented by tangerine zest. Jammy figs combine with vibrant strawberries and cracked black pepper. On the palate subtle cocoa develops alongside pressed apple. A full, spicy finish with lingering citrus and a hint of ash.
