Laphroaig Cairdeas 2025 Lore Cask Strength

The 2025 Càirdeas reimagines Laphroaig Lore as a Cask Strength release, bringing together five different casks and bottling the whisky at 59.6% ABV. Compared with the standard Lore at 48%, Distillery Manager George Campbell notes that the sweetness comes through more strongly, while the oak plays a more prominent role, offering a bolder and more direct expression of Lore’s famously complex and layered character.

Official Tasting Notes:
The nose is sweet, herbal and boldly peaty, with apricot, peaches in syrup and lemon cream, together with coconut, vanilla fudge, freshly cut grass, basil, tobacco and white pepper.
The palate opens with an intense burst of peat and salty sea spray, followed by lemon zest, salted lime and caramel. Fresh mint and tea leaves emerge alongside cumin, clove and ginger, together with Laphroaig’s distinctive medicinal character.
The finish is long, with lingering citrus sweetness and a persistent clove-like spice.

Laphroaig

Laphroaig is one of Islay’s most distinctive and polarizing distilleries.
