Clynelish

Clynelish is one of the few distilleries still renowned for its ‘waxy’ style—a result of a deliberate process to retain oily compounds during distillation. Although designed for a fruity profile, its character comes from these retained oils, evoking candle wax or waxed jackets.

Founded in 1819 and expanded in the 1960s with a second distillery (later Brora), Clynelish is now famous for its 14 Year Old single malt. It contributes significantly to Johnnie Walker Gold Label and offers a distinctive citrusy, mineral, and waxy profile.

Signatory is one of Scotland’s most respected independent bottlers, founded by Andrew Symington in 1988 and based in Pitlochry, closely linked to the Edradour distillery.
