Whisky Nerds is an Independent Bottler based in the Netherlands. The brand originated from a distillery tour in Scotland by a group of whisky enthusiasts, and later developed into an independent bottler. In 2016, they released the first bottling under the "Whisky Nerds" label. Over the years, Whisky Nerds has released only a limited number of bottlings, but their single cask selections are full of character and have been well received by whisky drinkers.

In recent years, Ben Nevis expressions featuring notes of passion fruit and white peach have become highly sought after. This Ben Nevis 2003 by Whisky Nerds, however, shows another side of the distillery. Matured in a Bourbon hogshead, it opens with fresh fruit aromas of green apple, pear and citrus, together with banana, honey, vanilla and a touch of spice. On the palate, it follows the nose closely, with plenty of sweet fruits, along with pleasant spice, vanilla and nutty notes. The finish is soft and honey-led, with the oak influence sitting just right and balancing well with the sweetness. This bottle shows the flexibility of Ben Nevis, and another style that can be brought out through Bourbon cask maturation.
