山崎 Yamazaki Mizunara 2012 - The Rare Malt

Yamazaki Mizunara 2012

A much anticipated whisky released at the end of 2012, this Yamazaki Mizunara 2012 does not have an age statement as well. Japanese Mizunara oaked whisky is precious, because of its wood structure - the tendency of leaking causes the very high cost.

On the nose there are notes of coconut, mango, passion fruit, while on the palate you can find nectar, coconut and different spices - overall there are hints of new, fresh wood and sandalwood. Refreshing, balance and smooth, a decent whisky which is quite different from other oak aged whisky.

Yamazaki

Yamazaki is Japan’s first whisky distillery, founded in 1923 by Suntory’s founder Shinjiro Torii. Situated between Kyoto and Osaka, the site was chosen for its renowned water and distinct four-season climate. Revered as the birthplace of Japanese whisky, Yamazaki boasts a legacy of a century-old tradition.

The distillery’s whiskies are celebrated for their floral, honeyed, and tropical fruit notes layered with oak complexity. Using various fermentation vats and diverse still shapes, Yamazaki produces a wide range of whisky profiles, making it one of the most iconic single malt brands in the world.
