厚岸 Akkeshi 春分 Shunbun 2026 Limited Release

Released in 2026, Shunbun is the 22nd expression in Akkeshi Distillery's 24 Solar Terms series and forms part of the collection's final chapter. Inspired by the springtime scene of budding cherry blossoms, the distillery created this Single Malt Japanese Whisky to reflect the seasonal theme.

Shunbun makes extensive use of spirit produced from Hokkaido-grown malted barley. According to Japanese whisky specialist sources, its Key Malt also includes whisky matured in casks made from Hokkaido-grown Mizunara oak. From barley sourcing to cask selection, these elements reflect Akkeshi's continued focus on Terroir and highlight its use of locally sourced materials from Hokkaido.

Official Tasting Notes:
Nose: Delicate aromas of sakura mochi, white peach compote, refreshing lemon soda, marmalade toast and brown sugar castella, followed by ripe oranges and hassaku citrus.
Palate: Flavours reminiscent of orange sorbet, lemon icing cookies and ramune jelly, accompanied by the refreshing sensation of sparkling water with ginger syrup.
Finish: A gentle bitterness of lemon and lime peel gradually emerges, alongside high-cocoa dark chocolate, finishing with the delicate sweetness of wasanbon sugar.
