Aultmore
Aultmore distillery, located near Keith in Scotland’s Speyside region, was founded in 1897 and is renowned for its pure style and nickname, "the whisky of the foggy moss." The name Aultmore means "big burn," referencing the local Auchinderran camp and the Burn of Aultmore stream, whose soft, clean water contributes significantly to the whisky’s character. Aultmore whiskies are known for their light body, floral notes, and grassy aromas, making them highly approachable.
Though much of its production traditionally goes into Dewar’s blended whiskies, Aultmore’s single malt offerings have gained recognition in recent years. In 2014, it was officially launched as part of The Last Great Malts range, including the Aultmore 12 Year Old, showcasing its unique qualities. The distillery uses unpeated malt and traditional distillation techniques, maturing its spirit mainly in Bourbon casks. Aultmore represents the pure, delicate side of Speyside and is a favorite among fans of elegant, lighter-style whiskies.
