Glenburgie
Glenburgie is a historic Speyside distillery with origins dating back to around 1810, officially adopting its name in 1870. While seldom bottled as a single malt, it has long been a key component of Ballantine’s blends. From 1958 to 1981, Glenburgie used experimental Lomond stills to produce Glencraig—a testament to its pioneering spirit.
In the early 2000s, the distillery underwent a major rebuild, retaining only the warehouses while modernizing the rest. Today, Glenburgie uses traditional stills to produce a rounded, balanced spirit with cereal and fruity notes. Though quiet in the single malt scene, it remains a cornerstone for Chivas blends, delivering consistent quality year after year.
