Octomore 11 Year Old 2012 Single Monbazillac Cask

This German market exclusive Octomore 11-year single cask whisky is something that Octomore enthusiasts will notice is not a typical model in the Octomore series. An 11-year single cask is quite rare. This particular single cask was personally selected by Head Distiller Adam Hannett and matured in second-fill Monbazillac sweet white wine casks. The peat level is as high as one would expect from the Octomore series, with this single cask having a PPM of 156, bottled at 60.4% ABV.

* Monbazillac, like the more familiar Sauternes, is a sweet white wine made using botrytized grapes (grapes affected by noble rot), but the production region and the proportions of grape varieties are completely different.
