Speyside Distillery
Speyside Distillery sits on the southeastern edge of the Scottish Highlands, a modestly sized site known for its handcrafted and slow-paced whisky-making process. Originally commissioned by George Christie, the distillery took 30 years to complete, finally starting production in 1990. With small stills from the Lochside distillery and long fermentation, the resulting spirit is delicate and light.
Though rarely seen as an official single malt, Speyside’s whisky has found its way into blends across Asia, launched under the Spey brand in Taiwan, and even used in producing Bhutanese whisky. This quiet yet globally influential presence makes Speyside Distillery a noteworthy small-scale producer of quality malt.
