Bowmore

Situated in the heart of Islay, Bowmore is the island’s oldest licensed distillery, established in 1779. As one of the most influential Islay distilleries, Bowmore embodies a unique style that balances peaty smokiness with gentle fruitiness, making it one of the most approachable peated whiskies. The distillery still uses traditional floor malting techniques and matures its spirit in the legendary No.1 Vaults—Scotland’s oldest whisky warehouse located below sea level—where the maritime air lends a distinct salty character and balance to its whiskies.

Bowmore has released many acclaimed vintage and limited edition expressions over the years, with the 12, 15, and 18 Year Old bottlings forming its core range. The Bowmore 15 Year Old, matured in sherry casks, is especially favored in Asian markets. Though Bowmore was among the first Islay distilleries to embrace whisky tourism, its production remains deeply rooted in tradition and quality, drawing enthusiasts from all over the world.
