Chorlton Whisky - Glendullan 23 Year Old 2002 Joint Bottling with The Rare Malt

Regular customers of our shop must know about Chorlton Whisky, and for the latest Spring Release, founder David brings in a brand-new label design! We are also thrilled to announce that our newest joint bottling is featured in this season's lineup. Although Glendullan is located in Speyside, it might not be a distillery everyone knows. However, both David and us are incredibly satisfied with the aroma and palate of this Glendullan, which matured for 23 years in a Bourbon Hogshead.

Nose: Features aromas of yuzu, cream, nuts, butter, malt, and pear.
Palate: A delightful interplay of sweet and savory, bringing notes of tangerine, digestive biscuits, and herbal flavors, complemented by a rich, creamy mouthfeel.
Finish: Very long, leaving behind lingering malty notes and the bittersweetness of yuzu.

Glendullan

Founded in 1897, Glendullan was one of the last distilleries built in Dufftown. Its spirit has long served as a key ingredient in blends like Bell’s and Old Parr. In 1972, a second facility was constructed next to the original, which was closed in 1985. Now part of Diageo, Glendullan is one of the largest producers in Speyside.

Glendullan produces a light and fresh spirit characterized by green apple, vanilla, and floral notes. Fermentation times and condenser choices help shape its bright profile. While less common as a single malt, it featured as the U.S. market expression in the Singleton range, embodying the approachable nature of Speyside whisky.

Chorlton Whisky

The whisky which I picked to bottle, is something I’m excited about and want to drink. Everything else is secondary, but I’d prefer to release “drinkable whisky” rather than anything expensive or rare.’ David Bennett, the founder of Chorlton Whisky told us.

It is never easy to strike a balance among quality of whisky, label design and price, no matter it is an official or independent bottling. However, we discovered that Chorlton Whisky was doing something different. David said, ‘Initially I thought it would be fun to have something unique to share. The ethos now, though, is trying to make single cask whisky a bit more accessible.
