The US Edition is composed by 6 casks, while 5 of them are Bourbon Barrels and the rest (#1460) is a Mizunara heads Hogshead.We believe that coopers in Chichibu Distillery act as a main role to produce the Mizunara heads Hogshead, as this special type of Hogshead is mostly found in Chichibu, but not other distilleries. At the same time, because of the uncompromising approach, whisky of Chichibu is always made to the highest standards, not to mention how rare Japanese Whisky is bottled at cask strength. Founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2008, Chichibu Distillery is Japan’s first new independent distillery in over 35 years and is credited with launching the country’s craft whisky movement. Located in Saitama Prefecture, Chichibu’s climate—with hot summers and freezing winters—enhances maturation, resulting in fruity and well-balanced whiskies even at a young age.

The distillery is dedicated to local craftsmanship, handling everything from barley growing and floor malting to on-site cooperage by hand. Using direct-fired Forsyths pot stills, Chichibu releases a wide range of limited-edition and experimental bottlings, making it a favorite among enthusiasts worldwide.
