Crafted by Michter’s distillery, named after its former name in the 1800's, Bomberger’s, this 108 Proof (54% ABV) bourbon whiskey features its partial use of Chinquapin Oak barrels for aging, instead of the traditional American White Oak commonly used in bourbon production. The lower density of Chinquapin Oak allows the whiskey to penetrate the wood more easily during maturation, absorbing a richer complexity of flavors. Starting in 2023, the mash bill was enhanced with the addition of malted rye, contributing to a richer note of molasses sweetness.

On the nose, it features aromas of ripe berries, maple, and nutty notes, with hints of vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, it opens with an explosion of molasses sweetness, gradually transitioning to warm spices and zesty citrus peel. The finish is long, leaving behind sweet notes of orange chocolate with a trace of oakiness.
