애버펠디

Aberfeldy was established in 1896 by John Dewar & Sons and remains the heart malt for the Dewar’s blend. Located by the Pitilie Burn, its water source has played a key role in its production. After expansions in 1973 and a shift toward single malt expressions in 1999, the brand is now owned by Bacardi and operated by John Dewar & Sons.

The distillery uses long fermentation (65–85 hours), shell and tube condensers, and onion-shaped stills to produce a honeyed, soft style with no peat. Signature expressions like the Aberfeldy 12 Year Old showcase notes of honey, vanilla, and dried fruit. The onsite Dewar’s World of Whisky visitor center adds a rich educational and storytelling layer.
