Established by Gaiaflow in 2016, Shizuoka Distillery is one of the most talked-about new players in the Japanese whisky scene. Nestled in the forested mountains of Tamagawa in Shizuoka City, the distillery benefits from pristine natural surroundings that offer ideal maturation conditions. A distinctive feature of the distillery is its dual distillation setup: a traditional Karuizawa still acquired from Scotland and a unique wood-fired still custom-designed in Japan, symbolizing a marriage of tradition and innovation.
