Known for its signature red wax seal and smooth, mellow flavor, Maker’s Mark holds a prominent place in the American whiskey scene. Although founded in the mid-20th century, its creator Bill Samuels Sr. was a sixth-generation distiller who used a 170-year-old family recipe. He deliberately chose the spelling “whisky” as a tribute to his Scottish heritage.

Beyond the original, Maker’s 46 undergoes additional stave finishing, making it especially suitable for cocktails like the Manhattan.
