Founded by whisky enthusiasts, Malternative literally means "an alternative to whisky." While primarily focusing on French cognac, it has scored high ratings on whisky review platforms, gradually gaining attention from whisky lovers.

This isn't the first time Malternative has collaborated with François Voyer to release an independent bottling (IB). This particular release was distilled in 1990 and caught Malternative’s attention in 2022, being regarded as an exceptional one from François Voyer. It was finally bottled and released in 2024. Malternative describes the nose as an uber-fruity explosion, balanced with oak, with notes of pepper, papaya, jasmine, and apricot. The palate is complex, sweet yet salty, fruity and fresh, powerful yet soft at the same time. The finish is long-lasting, with an explosion of fruit that repeats over and over again.
